While living in San Francisco, I was inspired by the clean lines and shapes of modern California ceramics. Six years ago, I happily decided to return home to the UK, embracing a more peaceful pace of life in the beautiful Scottish countryside. This welcome calm has influenced my ceramics practice, where I focus on contemporary porcelain pieces. I am especially drawn to porcelain's unique tactile qualities, and often leave surfaces exposed to highlight the clay’s natural texture.

My studio, Hame Ceramics, is located near the beautiful hamlet of Boarhills, just outside of St Andrews. My ceramics can be seen locally at Rufflets Hotel.
